Steps
Step 1
Start the Conversation
Reach out to our team to explore your retirement living options here in Northern Virginia. Whether you're ready to reserve one of our new Villas or prefer to join the Future Residency Program and wait for the right fit, we're here to support your senior housing preferences and guide you through the first step of residency planning with clarity and care.
Step 2
Join the Future Residency Program or the Westminster Club
To join the Future Residency Program, complete an agreement and submit a refundable $1,000 deposit. This secures your priority date and ensures you're among the first to hear when a residence becomes available. When the right home becomes available, a 10% deposit and signed Reservation Agreement hold it for you, with your contract date set 60 days from reservation. Scroll down for details about the Westminster Club.
Step 3
Complete Your Application
After reserving your home, you’ll receive an application packet including a confidential financial statement, application for residency, social history, and a pre-admission medical examination report for your physician to complete. These materials help us ensure your transition is smooth and personalized.
Step 4
Customize Your Space
If your new senior residence is undergoing renovation, you’ll have the opportunity to select finishes like flooring, cabinetry, and countertops from a range of standard options – or opt for upgrades to further personalize your home.
Step 5
Make It Official
On your contract date, your new home is ready for you to take occupancy. The remaining 90% of your entrance fee is due at this time, your monthly service fee begins, and your new and meaningful chapter is underway.
Contract Options
At SVWC, a Lifecare contract bundles housing, services, and future healthcare into one predictable monthly fee, making it one of the most comprehensive senior living plans in Northern Virginia. It’s a wise, long-term choice that brings confidence and cost protection as your needs evolve. With flexible entrance fee options, including plans with refundability, you can choose the path that fits your goals while securing peace of mind.

Cost Comparison
Compared to the rising and often unpredictable costs of aging at home or paying privately for care in Washington, D.C., or Northern Virginia, SVWC’s Lifecare contract offers lasting stability and long-term savings. One predictable monthly fee covers your residence, services, and future care, helping you avoid financial surprises while securing access to high-quality support right on campus.
Financial Planning
Take this quick, confidential assessment to see which SVWC residences may be a good financial fit for you. Answer a few brief questions about your age, income, and assets to get an instant, personalized estimate, with no commitment required.
