COVID Vaccines are required . Within 30 days of employment, you must complete the initial vaccine series for either Pfizer or Moderna for most positions. Clinical staff must have completed their initial vaccine series before employment can begin. Boosters are strongly encouraged, but not required. Documentation of vaccination status will be required. For applicants requesting medical or religious exemptions related to vaccination, documentation will need to be reviewed and approved prior to any offers of employment.

Hiring process

From application to interview to start date, we want the hiring process to go as smoothly as possible. To ensure that our residents receive the highest-quality care in a safe, welcoming environment, all applicants go through a series of steps:

  • Company-paid pre-employment drug screening
  • Criminal background check
  • National Sex Offender Registry check
  • License verification (if applicable)
  • Proof of eligibility to be employed in the United States

At Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury (SVWC), we also complete a thorough reference check on all final applicants. Some positions may require verification of past driving record and current drivers’ license status.

We also require a tuberculosis test to be conducted at the time of hire.
