Philosophy of Health and Wellness

The Health and Wellness Philosophy of Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury is based on our mission of living life fully and enjoying our God-given years with dignity. Health is a state of physical, mental and spiritual well-being. Wellness evolves as individual circumstances change and as we seek to strengthen ourselves in body, mind and spirit. Wellness is our capacity to make changes through self-reflection, goal setting and planning for new ways of living. Knowing that every resource you’ll ever need is already here will help you focus on enjoying your journey.

Continuum of Care

By design, we were built to ensure that you can remain in the same place with the same people, even if your health changes over time. And it’s not just your neighbors that will stay familiar – it is the family of skilled professionals here that will alleviate the worry associated with the need to relocate based on changes. Here, you won’t have to search for new providers that are unfamiliar with your likes, dislikes and general outlook on wellness and living your best life.

Lifecare Advantage

Lifecare offers a practical way to plan for changes in health needs over time while controlling associated expense. The combination of a one-time entrance fee and a monthly service fee guarantees residence at Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury, no matter what those needs are for you and/or your spouse. Your estate benefits from predictable costs over time and there are potential tax benefits to be explored. Additionally, Lifecare means that couples don’t have to be miles apart when one partner faces a health crisis. Loved ones are close at hand, a few steps away, to provide support. That security is beyond measure.

When a resident or staff member is not feeling their best, they have access to our in-house Clinic, which is open five days a week with a full-time Physician, Nurse Practitioner, RN, CNA, and Phlebotomist. Why leave the building for a minor cut or cold symptoms when you can walk down the hall and be seen and treated or given a prescription by our professional staff? Additionally, a Dentist, an Audiologist, a Dermatologist, and a Podiatrist come to the Clinic for resident appointments.
