Job Summary

Performs variety of tasks that include but not limited to painting, changing bulbs, picture hanging, general maintenance, ice/snow abatement as needed.

SALARY

Required Education, Experience, Skills, Licensure

1.                 HighSchool Diploma or GED preferred.

 

2.                 Previousgeneral maintenance, and painting experience preferred.

 

3.                 Valid driver’s license required. For at least four years.

Job Requirements

1.                 Supportthe mission and purposes of SVWC.

 

2.                 Supportthe Board of Trustees and Administration.

 

3.                 Presenta professional, caring image.

 

4.                 Employmentand annual Tuberculosis testing as required by Virginia State Licensure.

 

5.                 Mustattend mandatory inservices required by the State Licensure and all othermandatory inservices and/or meetings required by other regulatory agencies and/orby SVWC.

 

6.                 Followsand supports the policies and procedures established by SVWC.

 

7.                 COVID-19Vaccine Required.  

Essential duties/Responsibilities

1.                 Remove burned out bulbs and replace with new ones.

 

2.                 Ability to work independently.

 

3.                 Removes snow using manual shovel / snow blower.

 

4.                 Painting(touch ups and basic wall repair).

 

5.                 Other duties as assigned.

VISION

 

·        Mustbe able to visually identify and discern printed words on either typewrittenpages or computer screen.

·        Mustbe able to identify and differentiate colors.

·        Musthave depth perception within normal ranges.

 

HEARING

 

·        Mustbe able to respond to spoken words and other auditory sounds including theringing of telephone or beepers and monitors.

·        Mustbe able to respond and communicate orally by telephone.

 

LIFTING

 

·        Heavylifting required (over 50 pounds occasionally and 50 pounds repetitively fromground level to shoulder height.)

·        Mustbe able to push and maneuver carts/stretchers/space saver loaded with weightsof 50 pounds.

 

TOOLSAND EQUIPMENT

 

·        Mustbe able to maneuver 100lb mower for 7 hours.

·        Mustbe able to handle power tools for 100% of an 8 hour shift.

·        Mustbe able to use, operate and interpret information from equipment in work area.

 

SPEECH

 

·        Mustbe able to communicate and be understood.

 

RANGE OF MOTION

 

·        Mustbe able to climb (ladders and such) and be able to reach and balance from theladders.

·        Mustbe able to walk continually for 2 hours.

·        Mustbe able to stand for 2 hours.

·        Musthave mobility of all parts of the body, walking, bending, lifting, reachingabove head and use of hands.      

·        Mustbe able to stand and/or mobilize by walking for 100% of an 8 hour shift.

 

WORKINGCONDITIONS

 

·        Maybe required to work near or with voltages (up to 480 volts AC).

·        Mayhave to work in hot (over 80 degrees F) or cold (under 10 degrees F) environment.

·        Mustbe able to work under stress.

·        Mustbe able to work overtime (and some employees work rotations or call schedules).

·        Mustbe able to work a rotating shift.

·        Mustbe able to work “on call.” (some employees on occasion).

·        Mustbe able to deal with verbally and physically combative patients.

·        Mustbe able to work out of doors in varying types of weather.

·        Mustbe able to utilize or wear protective equipment or apparel in accordance withOSHA standards.

·        Mustbe able to work within confined spaces.

·        Musthave mental capacity to fulfill the requirements of the job including problemsolving, logic, communication and numerical calculations.
