Job Summary

Responsible for creating an enjoyable dining experience for residents and their guests. Follows established style and order of service while serving in the main dining room and at special functions. Responsible for clearing dishes, busing and resetting tables.

SALARY

Required Education, Experience, Skills, Licensure

1.                 High School Diploma or GED preferred.

2.                 Basic reading, writing, and math skills required.

1.                 Support the mission and purpose of SVWC.

2.                 Support the Board of Trustees and Administration.

3.                 Present a professional, caring image.

4.                 Employment and annual Tuberculosis testing as required by Virginia State Licensure.

5.                 Must attend annually mandatory in-services required by the State Licensure and all other mandatory inservices and/or meeting requiredby other regulatory                     agencies and/or by SVWC.

6.                 Follows and supports the policies and procedures established by SVWC.

7.                 COVID-19 Vaccine Required.

Essential duties/Responsibilities

1.                 Provides excellent customer service for clientele tocreate an enjoyable dining experience.

2.                 Restocks Bistro for opening, closing, and throughoutoperating hours to include drinks, food, utensils, napkins, condiments, etc.

3.                 Operates the cash register in accordance with Bistrocash handling procedures.

4.                 Performs assigned opening duties such as turning onequipment, preparation of food, opening cash register, etc.

5.                 Performs assigned closing duties such as turning offequipment, wiping counters, vacuuming, cleaning equipment, etc.

6.                 Follows and supports the policies and proceduresestablished by the Dining Services Department.

7.                 Attends department mandatory meetings.

8.                 Maintains a professional, clean, and neat appearanceaccording to Dining Services dress code.

9.                 Must be dressed in appropriate and complete uniformwhich is neat and clean.

10.            Fill out temperature logs daily for specific areas.

11.            Other duties as assigned.

VISION

·       Must be able to visually identify and discernprinted words on either typewritten pages or computer screen.

HEARING

 

·       Must be able to respond to spoken words andother auditory sounds including the ringing of telephone or beepers andmonitors.

·       Must be able to respond and communicate orallyby telephone.

 

LIFTING

·       Must be able to push and maneuver carts loadedwith weights of approximately 75 pounds.

·       Heavy lifting required (over 10 poundsoccasionally and 5 pounds repetitively from ground level to shoulder height.)

 

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT

 

·       Must be able to use, operate and interpretinformation form equipment in work area.

·       Must be able to maneuver a 100 lb. Bus Cart for2 hours out of an 8-hour shift.

 

SPEECH

 

·       Must be able to verbally communicate in theEnglish language directly and over the telephone and be understood.

 

RANGE OF MOTION

 

·       Must have mobility for all parts of the body,walking, bending, lifting, and reaching above head and use of hands.

·       Must be able to kneel or squat for 2 of an8-hour shift.

·       Must be able to walk continually for 7 hours.

·       Must have manual dexterity, fine motor skills(typing, computer, etc.)

·       Must be able to stand and/or mobilize by walkingfor 95% of an 8-hour shift.

·       Some tasks may require sitting for 5% of theworkday.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

·       Must be able to work under stress

·       Must be able to work overtime.

·       Must be able to work a rotating shift.

·       Must be able to work “on call.”

·       Must be able to utilize or wear protectiveequipment or apparel in accordance with OSHA standards.

·       May be required to work near or with voltages(up to 480 volts AC).

·       May have to work in hot (over 90 degrees) orcold (under 0 degrees F) environment.

 

MENTAL CAPACITY

 

·       Must have mental capacity to fulfill therequirements of the job including problem solving, logic, communication andnumerical calculations.

·       Must be able to read and understand writteninstructions in English.

·       Accurate recall and memory.

·       Must be able to use judgment in making decisionsand choices.

·       Ability to analyze numbers and make basicmathematical calculations.
