For years, the Northern Virginia Daily and then the Winchester Star have hosted a thrilling competition for businesses in the region. This competition, known as the 'Best in Category' challenge, is a journey that starts with readers nominating businesses that they patronize. The excitement continues with the voting process, where voters embark on a quest to find their favorites among the many categories and are even allowed to cast multiple votes.

SVWC has been nominated in several categories over the years...best Retirement Community, Assisted Living Facility, Senior Living Facility, and Rehabilitation Facility. In 2024, for the 10th+ year in a row, SVWC was voted the BEST Retirement Community! In addition, we won as the BEST Assisted Living Facility, the BEST Senior Living Facility, and a finalist as the BEST Rehabilitation Facility.
