Ed and Louise Pine
It was love at first sight for Ed and Louise Pine, not only for the couple, but when they first saw Westminster-Canterbury. They love the view from their one-bedroom apartment and they love their neighbors. When they visited the community three years ago, they felt they had received a red-carpet welcome. Ed and Louise wanted to move in the next day, but they had to wait a month. The view from their new home overlooks the gazebo and landscaped courtyard, but it wasn’t that way three years ago. From their balcony they have watched the daily hum of construction activity for the recently completed Vitality Center. Watching the new community center unfold and the courtyard take shape was entertaining, and they truly appreciate the end result. Keeping tabs on the construction was only a small part of their day. Now Louise’s day is full of new friends, reading, fitness classes and keeping in touch with their three children, seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Ed tunes in to his ham radio club and plays an occasional billiard game. A D-Day veteran, Ed recently visited France, where he was one of 100 veterans to receive the Legion of Honor awarded by the French government. They both love music and enjoy the symphony. After Ed retired from banking, they traveled extensively, visiting Europe twice and the west coast of
the United States twice and every place in between. Today their wanderlust takes them on one of the many day trips planned at Westminster-Canterbury. Whether they are traveling, listening to a concert, or visiting with friends or family, Ed and Louise are loving life.
