She has been closely involved with continuing care retirement living from an initial feasibility study through building and marketing such a facility. She was a member of the first Board of Trustees of the Shenandoah Valley Westminster Canterbury before becoming an independent cottage resident over seven years ago. Currently Farley Massey is a member of the Residents' Executive Committee in her facility, and also serves on the Virginia Diocesan Homes Board, which represents six Continuing Care Retirement Communities. She is a graduate of Boston University, Sargent College with a degree in Physical Therapy, as well as a masters degree in Education from James Madison University. Farley is the founding director of Camp Rim Rock, a premier private camp for girls located in the east. She has always loved dogs, and especially this one named "Julie".
